Spring and Fall rainy weather makes Plein Air a challenge, especially if you are working with paper. We have had to cancel this event twice. Hopefully we will get there again this year. If not we will certainly return in 2012.
Time : 19 September · 09:00 – 12:00 — Rescheduled to September 26th. — Cancelled due to rain.
Cedar Island Beach at Kingsville
900 Cedar Island Drive
Across from the Cedar Island Yacht club you will find beach scenes, boats and the bridge crossing county road 50.
Here’s a link to the google map of the location: Cedar Island
At this time of year you can never truly predict what will happen. We go with the flow. Unless of course the sky is flowing before you even leave the house.
Here is a link to a good weather site that gives long-range, hourly, and even 15 min updates on the weather.
SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT TO BRING
The weather is getting more unpredictable, and it might get quite cool and windy on the lake shore, so make sure you layer. We suggest that you bring ear protection.
For your personal comfort:
Bug Spray (they are biting)
Closed toe shoes with socks (bugs love your feet and ankles)
Wind breaker, jacket, sweater (layering)
Snack & Water
For the sake of art:
Plein Air easel
Plein air pochade box
Plein Air umbrella (type that clamps to your chair or screws into the ground)
Paint and drawing supplies of your choice
Your drawing supplies can be as little as a pencil, pad and sharpener or as elaborate as a full french easel box of oils and canvases. If you are just starting out, we suggest starting small.
