New Paint Out Lakewood Park Tecumseh Monday Nov. 3rd

Exciting New Paint Out Location in Tecumseh!

Lakewood Park North and South

Monday November 3rd 10:00 A.M. until ?

The Town of Tecumseh purchased lakefront property at 13438 Riverside Drive to develop a “Signature Waterfront Park”.  This beautiful park is now open to the public.  It provides high quality community recreation on the waterfront. It is a special place that showcases the natural site features and cultural heritage of Tecumseh and provides a unique place for community functions and recreation opportunities for all ages.  The town is also developing the former Lakewood Golf Course property currently referred to as Lakewood Park South. ~paraphrased from Town of Tecumseh Parks and Rec.

I do not know if the washrooms are open, but there are many washrooms available just south on Manning road at the various shopping plazas.
This link to Google maps is not up to date, but you can still follow it to the location.  They do not show the new round about at Tecumseh and Manning Road.  The park is located at the North end of Manning road at Riverside Drive.  Parking lots is located east of Manning off Riverside Dr.

Keeping warm in the fall and winter.
The weather is getting colder, so you may need earmuffs, neck scarf, gloves and a warm coat.  Still bring a hat with a brim so the sun does not hurt your view.  This time of year I use a baseball cap.  Sunscreen and bug spray are still suggested.  Dress in layers as the weather is unpredictable.  Long pants, long sleeves, closed shoes or boots, socks and long underwear will help keep you warm.  Of course the amount of extra clothing will vary with the weather.
You might want to think about purchasing disposable hand and toe warmers if you want to try winter paint outs.  These are inexpensive and available at Canadian Tire in the hunting section.  Watch for them to go on sale.
A folding chair can also be helpful.
Your drawing supplies can be as little as a pencil, pad and sharpener or as elaborate as a full french easel box of oils and canvases. If you are just starting out, we suggest starting small.
Don’t forget your camera!

Note:  If we are going out of town a car pool will always be an option.  A tip to the driver for gas is appreciated, but not expected.
