At the foot of Chewitt Street between Russell Street and the Detroit River
McKee Park represents the City’s first effort to provide public access to the river for local boaters.
The hours are flexible you can come earlier or leave later. At this time of year the ice is flowing in the Detroit River, and it should be very interesting. You will also be able to see the Ambassador Bridge. You will also see the man made islands that give refuge for the sturgeon to spawn. Dress in layers. You don’t need paint, you can start out with a sketch pad. Don’t forget to bring your camera.
